Pomodoro Technique User Guide
π What is the Pomodoro Technique?
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in 1992. The core idea is to break work into multiple short focus periods, alternating between work and rest to maintain optimal brain performance.
π Core Concepts:
- Focus is key to efficiency: 25 minutes of focused work is more valuable than long periods of inefficient work
- Rest is a continuation of work: Proper rest keeps your brain in optimal condition
- Tracking shows progress: Quantify your workζζ by recording completed pomodoros
π― Classic Pomodoro Workflow:
- Choose a task to work on
- Set a 25-minute focus timer (one pomodoro)
- Work focused until the timer rings without interruption
- Take a 5-minute break and step away from your seat
- After completing 4 pomodoros, take a 15-30 minute long break
πΉοΈ Button Functions
β οΈ Important Notes
- Task Interruption Rules: If you click "Pause", "Reset", "Short Break", or "Long Break" during a task, the current task will be marked as "Cancelled" and not counted toward your pomodoro total
- Starting Focus During Break: If you click "Start" while a break timer is running, a confirmation dialog will appear - confirm to end the current break and start a new work task
- Task Record Storage: All task records are automatically saved in your browser's IndexedDB - today's tasks remain after closing and reopening the page
- Daily Auto-Cleanup: The system automatically cleans up non-today's task records to keep your task list showing only today's tasks
- Pomodoro Counting Rules: Only work tasks that complete naturally (timer runs out) are counted toward your completed pomodoro total
